How to launch a successful career in academics?
— Tenure, promotion, research, publications, mobility, and politics in the digital age
Agenda (half day on day 1):
- Keynote speech on academic career in the US or western countries (30 min)
- Keynote speech on academic career in Greater China and Asia (20 min)
- Career and life as a female faculty – how to succeed in academics (15 min)
- Panel on tenure, promotion, publications, and politics (45 min)
- Round table discussions divided into three groups: (1) tenure/promotion/mobility, (2) research/journals/publications, (3) teaching, online/offline. (45 min in parallel)
Audience:
- Junior faculty (assistant professors, pre-tenure) working in academics
- PhD students who are close to graduation on the job market (on the way to become assistant professors)
